System requirements

  • macOS 12 Monterey or later
  • Mac with Apple silicon or Intel
  • Internet connection only for the one-time trial activation
  • App interface in English, guide in English and German

Seven days of editing from activation

Once you start the trial (gear icon → Settings → Start 7-day trial), you can use every editing feature and write new font files for seven days. The period starts at activation, not at download. After activation the trial works offline.

After it ends, you can still inspect fonts, check plans and read reports. Reinstalling does not restart the period.

Participation and privacy

  • Free, no registration, no obligation to buy, no subscription.
  • TypeSteward is a prerelease version and may contain errors. Work with copies and check results before using them. Only process fonts whose licence allows it.
  • Fonts are processed locally on your Mac. Activation sends a pseudonymous installation identifier once, never fonts, file names or reports.
  • For each download we count only the time, terms version and language, with no IP address or identifier.
  • Please don’t pass the package on. Anyone who wants to test TypeSteward can download it here.

After downloading.

Three steps to your first verified font. The beta guide explains them in detail.

  1. Open the DMG.

    Double-click the downloaded file TypeSteward-Beta-0.1.20-universal.dmg.

  2. Install the app.

    Drag TypeSteward into Applications and launch that installed copy.

  3. Activate the trial.

    Gear icon → Settings → Start 7-day trial. The seven days start now.
