# TypeSteward public beta terms Version: beta-2026-10-26-public. Date: 26 October 2026. ## 1 Provider and participation TypeSteward is provided by Sascha Fronczek, Alter Schlachthof 11b, Atelier B2, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. Contact: hello@typesteward.app. Telephone: +49 152 23487246. Website: [typesteward.app](https://typesteward.app). The public beta is available for download until 21 November 2026 to adults in Germany and the European Union. Both private individuals and professional users may participate. The app is intended for lawful testing of its font conversion, family grouping and font data transfer features. The beta requires macOS 12 or later on a Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel. The interface currently uses English; the guide is available in German and English. Supported font formats and known limitations are described in the supplied guide and release notes for the downloaded release. Not every font is suitable for every operation or destination application. ## 2 Costs and permission to use Participation and digital delivery cost EUR 0 including taxes. TypeSteward charges no delivery or activation fees. Your internet connection is subject to your own provider's charges. There is no automatic obligation to buy, no paid subscription and no automatic conversion to a paid licence. Any later purchase would be a separate contract. Anyone who accepts these terms and downloads the beta receives a non-exclusive right to install it on their own Macs and use it for the described private or professional testing. The beta package must not be passed to other people or offered publicly; others can download it themselves from typesteward.app. This does not restrict rights in open-source components or uses permitted by law. No rights in third-party fonts are granted. ## 3 Writing access and subsequent reading The trial entitlement permits writing new font files for seven days. The period starts when the trial is expressly activated, not when the app is downloaded. Activation requires an internet connection; the activated trial then works offline. A repeated request does not extend a trial entitlement that is still stored by the activation service. Reading and inspecting fonts, checking plans and reading existing reports remain available after expiry. Further writing requires an additional valid entitlement. The download is available until 21 November 2026, 23:59 (Europe/Berlin). You may continue to use a beta you have already downloaded under these terms after that date. These terms do not shorten permissions already granted. ## 4 Font rights and permitted use Before making changes, check that your rights in the fonts and applicable law permit the operation and your intended use. For Transfer, check both source and target. Private use does not automatically permit every modification, redistribution or web and app embedding. TypeSteward grants no additional font usage rights. Respect required licence and copyright notices, accompanying files and any reserved font names. Renaming, conversion or changing demo markers does not extend a licence. Statutory rights remain unaffected. If in doubt, ask the font provider. Displayed metadata and technical verification reports are not legal clearance and cannot replace a separate rights review. ## 5 Beta status and backups The beta is a development version and may contain errors. Check results before using them in production projects and start with a small selection of fonts you are entitled to process. Keep an independent backup. TypeSteward is designed to write new outputs without overwriting originals. This is not a promise of complete freedom from errors or lossless conversion. Plan and report notices describe technical changes and limitations. These precautions are not a waiver of liability. Any statutory update obligations remain unaffected. The seven-day writing period does not determine how long those obligations last. Offline processing does not exclude required security updates. ## 6 Voluntary feedback Feedback is voluntary and is not a condition of access to or use of the granted beta. You can send feedback to hello@typesteward.app. No GitHub account is required. Start with a description, app and macOS versions and, if needed, a sanitised screenshot or report. Remove personal and confidential details. Font files and customer data are not required; do not send them without the necessary rights and a secure transfer method agreed in advance. Feedback does not constitute a blanket assignment of copyright. ## 7 Library rights Bundled libraries and other third-party components are governed by their own licences. You receive their notices and the required source and replacement materials in the download package. The accompanying recipient guide explains where to find them and how to replace the affected libraries using the described procedure. Source access does not require an additional paid entitlement. These terms do not restrict the rights those licences grant, including permitted modifications and reverse engineering for debugging under the applicable licence or law. TypeSteward's own code remains separate. ## 8 Privacy Fonts are processed locally. Express trial activation sends a pseudonymous installation identifier, product identifier, major version and protocol version over HTTPS. Fonts, filenames, file paths and reports are not part of this activation request. Hosting also involves connection data. The separate privacy notice describes purposes, legal bases, recipients, retention periods and rights. It is linked on the download page and is also available immediately before activation. For each download, the provider stores only the time, the version of these terms and the page language, without an IP address or identifier, to count downloads. Accepting these beta terms is not consent to advertising or any other additional processing of personal data. ## 9 Statutory claims and liability Liability, defect remedies and other claims are governed by applicable law. These terms introduce no additional contractual exclusion of liability or participant obligation to compensate the provider for third-party claims. Beta status, free participation and backup advice do not remove statutory claims. Mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable withdrawal rights, remain unaffected. ## 10 Acceptance and subsequent changes Before you download, the download page states the system requirements, the trial period and the participation and privacy information, and links to these terms, which you can save as a text file. Ticking the acceptance checkbox and clicking “Download beta” accepts the offer; the contract is concluded when the download starts. Without the checkbox, the server does not release the package. The accepted version of these terms is included in the download package. Because you do not register, the provider stores no personal record of acceptance. Sascha Fronczek handles complaints, questions and participation notices at hello@typesteward.app or the postal address and telephone number given above. The provider announces necessary updates and how to obtain the updated release on typesteward.app. The app continues to process fonts locally; it does not need to remain online for this. New versions do not apply automatically or retrospectively. Material changes require the necessary information and agreements before taking effect. These beta terms do not change an earlier purchase contract or third-party rights already granted. ## 11 Ending participation and withdrawal You may end beta participation at any time without charge by no longer using the app and removing your copy; no notice is required, but you may write to hello@typesteward.app or the postal address given above. There is no minimum participation period, notice period or automatic renewal. After participation ends, stop using the proprietary beta app and remove your copy. You may keep your own fonts, outputs and reports. Rights in third-party components under their licences and statutory claims remain unaffected. Ending participation does not automatically erase all lawfully required records; the separate privacy notice governs those records. In addition, TypeSteward grants every participant a contractual right to withdraw their acceptance without giving a reason within 14 days of contract conclusion. Sending a clear statement before the deadline is sufficient. This right remains available after download, installation or trial activation. Any longer statutory withdrawal period and other statutory rights are not shortened. The participation and withdrawal information included in the package explains the process and includes an optional form. No declaration waiving statutory rights is required.
