Hosting
Dogado is used for the website, trial service and feedback email. dogado GmbH is based at Antonio-Segni-Straße 11, 44263 Dortmund, Germany. The existing data processing agreement covers hosting and email as well as the specified trial and feedback data.
According to Dogado's information for webhosting plans, access and error logs include the IP address, requested website, time, amount of data transferred, referring page, browser and operating system. The IP address is shortened after 24 hours by setting its last octet to zero; the logs are deleted within seven days. This shortening is not described here as a guarantee of complete anonymity. This provider statement concerns webhosting logs and is not a confirmed period for all email, security or administrative logs. Their actual retention and the service-specific allocation of subprocessors are still being clarified with Dogado. Our legitimate interest in securely providing the website and activation service is the basis for this processing (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Contact by email
Contact, support and voluntary feedback information is processed to handle the relevant matter. Depending on its content, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. For the new beta, ordinary support and feedback correspondence is to be deleted no later than six calendar months after the matter is concluded, or earlier when its purpose ends. Unnecessary attachments are not retained as a precaution. This period does not apply to separate necessary contract records, specific unresolved claims or actually applicable statutory retention obligations.
Sascha Fronczek is responsible for timely handling. Email deadlines are reviewed when handling each matter and additionally each month; the individual due dates remain binding.
Beta and future sales
The public beta can be downloaded free of charge until 21 November 2026, without registration and with no automatic obligation to buy. Feedback is voluntary. Paddle is planned for future sales. This preview confirms neither an active checkout nor a specific Paddle contracting entity. The services, recipients and data flows actually used will be described separately before sales begin. Information from Paddle is available in Paddle's privacy notice.
Beta download and feedback
When you download, the server checks that you have accepted the beta terms. To count downloads, we store only the time, the version of the beta terms and the page language (DE or EN) for each download, in a file outside the public web area. We store no IP address, cookie, device identifier or other identifier; linking a download to an individual is not intended. The provider’s access logs described under “Hosting” are created independently. Counting serves our legitimate interest in assessing use of the beta (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The counting file is deleted no later than 31 December 2026; only totals are kept after that.
Feedback is voluntary and may be sent to hello@typesteward.app. The previous address beta@typesteward.app also forwards to this mailbox in Dogado’s E-Mail Ultimate service. The mailbox has no additional email forwarding configured. Font files and confidential customer data are not required for participation and should not be sent without an agreed secure method and the necessary rights.
Retention of beta contract records
The public beta creates no personal records of offers or acceptance: acceptance is only checked technically at download, and the accepted version follows from the version identifier of the terms. If you write to us about participation, ending participation or withdrawal, we archive only the correspondence needed for that, together with the relevant terms and information. Retention initially serves contract administration and subsequently, where still necessary, evidence of the agreed rights and obligations. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR; where a specific statutory retention obligation applies, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
For beta contract records without a specific statutory retention obligation, the plan is to review continued necessity annually and delete the records no later than the end of the third calendar year following the end of participation. If the need for evidence ends earlier, they will be deleted earlier. Where specific unresolved claims or statutory retention obligations remain, only the necessary records will be retained for the required period and reviewed regularly. There is no plan to retain all beta emails for a blanket six-year period. Contract records are excluded from the shorter deletion periods for ordinary support or feedback emails.
The archive will remain private with restricted access. For the beta process, separate filing of necessary records in the existing private email/file area has been specified. The specific backup coverage, maximum retention at Dogado and removal of deleted data from backups remain unresolved; immediate complete deletion from all backups is not promised.
Privacy in the app
Fonts are processed locally. The app uploads no fonts, file paths or reports and uses no analytics or tracking services. If you expressly activate the seven-day trial, it sends a protocol version, product identifier, licence major version and pseudonymous installation identifier over HTTPS. The identifier is a hash of a random local value, not a hardware fingerprint, and is treated as pseudonymous data.
The activation service stores this identifier, major version, a derived trial ID and the trial start and expiry times. This issues the seven-day entitlement under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Subsequent limited repeat-trial prevention and entitlement enquiries are based on our legitimate interest in a limited evaluation period (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Repeating a request does not extend a trial that is still stored. After activation the trial works offline; server-side deletion does not remove local entitlements from the Mac's keychain.
Retention and deletion: Trial records become due for deletion90 days after trial expiry unless a specific justified exception applies, or earlier when their purpose ends. Activation cleanup uses that threshold. The existing hosting scheduler also runs cleanup automatically every day at03:00 (Europe/Berlin), even without new activations. In normal operation it removes due records within a further24 hours. The operator addresses reported execution errors.
The first supervised pass took place on15 October2026; no records were due for deletion. After deletion the same installation can obtain another trial. Provider backups and local Mac entitlements are handled separately. HTTPS activation also involves the connection data described above.
Backups and deleted data
For webhosting, Dogado describes backups of web data, databases and email mailboxes every three hours and retention for at least seven days. This is general provider information, not a confirmed maximum retention period for our particular plan or every private file. The maximum removal period, additional backup copies and specific coverage of the private trial database have not yet been confirmed.
Deletion from active storage therefore does not mean immediate removal from every backup. No fixed maximum for all backup copies is claimed. The remaining provider information or reliable deletion criteria must be added before launch. For restoration, restored data must remain separate from reuse until retention deadlines and known earlier individual erasures have been reconciled. This does not confirm that a restoration has already been performed.
